1. What is Laserport?
Laserport is a Family Entertainment Center based on Laser Tag. There is also a large Video Arcade and Pizza Parlor. The Copper Monkey Restuarant and Bar offers a variety of drinks and entrees from burgers and fries to steak and seafood!
2. What is Laser Tag?
Laser Tag is a game where all players put on a vest that kind of resembles football shoulder pads. These packs have sensors on the front, back, phaser and both shoulders. The object of the game is to score as many points as possible during the game by tagging either the opposing team or their base targets.
3. Where is LaserPort Located?
Laserport is located right before the corner of Allen and Scholls Ferry Rd. We are a 1/2 mile East of Hwy 217 on Allen Blvd.
4. Do You Need Reservations to Play Laser Tag?
Depends. We usually take reservations for groups of 10 or more. Reservations do not guarantee you a game at a certain time, it just places you at the top of the list. If you are doing one of our Packages you MUST make ADVANCED reservations. We do not take reservations for the Friday and Saturday Night Specials.
5. Is There A Different Price For Kids and Adults?
No. All pricing is the same. $7.00 per person per game. The cost of the game includes all equipment and training fees.
6. What Are the Two Different Laser Tag Game Types?
There are two different game types that we offer. There is the normal team game; with Red Team vs Green Team. Each player gets 60 shots and 15 lives. After which, players recharge to get all their shots and lives back. The other game is called a “Manhunt”. In Manhunt it is Everybody vs Everybody, no teams. Also players have an unlimited amount of shots and lives. Hence there is no recharging. Also there are no base targets in a Manhunt game. So, the only way to score points is to tag each other.
7. How Long Is Each Laser Tag Game?
The actual length of a Laser Tag game is 10 minutes long. By the time you go through the orientation, vesting, unvesting, annoucements, and score cards; each game takes about 20 to 25 minutes from start to finish.
8. Are There Any Age or Height Requirements to Play Laser Tag?
There are no required age and height limits, however the packs are one size fits all. Usually anyone under six years of age has a hard time holding the weight of the pack, about 6 lbs, for the entire length of the game. But this is only a general average. If you are unsure if your child can hold the pack, we can put one on them and see before you play Laser Tag.
9. How Many People Can Play in Each Laser Tag Game?
Up to four teams of up to 10 people per team
10. Is It Just My Group Playing in the Laser Tag Game?
The answer is usually “No”. All of our Laser Tag games are open to the public. However, if circumstances allow, we might be able to do so. The only way to guarantee a game just for your group is to fill the game. This means 40 people or less than 40, but you pay for 40 anyway.
11. How Are the Teams Formed for a Laser Tag Game?
The teams are made by the Laser Port staff. You can request specific teams, and if able, we will use those teams. But, even if you do make and request teams, you are not guaranteed to have those teams. But we will do the best we can to get it as close as possible if we can not meet them exactly.
12. Is Laser Tag Dangerous to Play?
Laser Tag is a physical activity. And like all sports and activities there is a chance of getting hurt if you do not follow the rules. But as long as you follow the rules, there is very little risk of getting hurt.
13. Can the Lasers Hurt Your Eyes?
Our lasers are the safest possible. Because of this there is no eye protection required, or anything like it. In fact, you do more damage to you eyes looking at the sun then our lasers could ever possibly do.
14. What is the Usual Format for a Birthday Party?
Almost all of our parties follow the same format. You will sign up, play your first game of Laser Tag, Eat, then play your 2nd game of Laser Tag. If you would like to change the format of your party, please let your party host/hostess know as soon as possible.
